I am currently entering my tenth year as a teacher. Over the course of my career, I have taught everything from math, to computer science, to exercise science, and of course, economics and history. I have become an expert in competency-based education, especially as it relates to historical thinking skills in the classroom. I have created full curricula centered on teaching historical thinking skills based on the research of Sam Wineburg, Peter Seixas, Bruce VanSledright and others, and have implemented these in the history classroom. My career goal is to become an educational economist who uses economic tools to most efficiently implement evidence-based, best practices with the aim of optimizing student outcomes.
